GRAIG FARM PLASTIC-FREE PLEDGE

Graig Farm introduce plastic-free, biodegradable butchers paper packaging, and will make the whole farming process as plastic-free as possible going forward.
Jonathan & Sally Rees have decided to make the majority of our wonderful organic produce available without any plastic packaging to all our lovely customers.

Why Plastic-Free

We are aware of the effects plastics are having on the environment and there are steps that we can all take to make a difference – and at Graig Farm we intend to do our part!
Our products are already delivered in an environmentally friendly insulated cardboard box. The insulation in the box is a biodegradable and fully compostable sheep’s wool liner, plus the outer casing is 100% recyclable cardboard.
To take our environmental commitment to the next level, we have now decided to go back to the traditional way of packaging meat in ‘butchers’ paper’. This has completely removed all plastic from the product we dispatch.

Our Goals For The Future

As a responsible and environmentally mindful food producer, these are just the first of many changes we intend making. The next step is to remove plastic from the entire farming process – this means removing all plastic packaging from everything brought into the farm, including animal feeds, and even finding new materials to wrap our hay bails!
We are 100% committed to making these changes work and within a short period of time, we hope to become as plastic-free as possible going forward.
Jonathan & Sally have always maintained that the greatest knowledge in agriculture has been learnt from the past, hence the Graig Farm mantra; “we look to the past to create a better future”!
